It really is weird being in Auckland without Kara. I'm not staying at the first hostel we came to a year ago, but I am on the same road, and I spent some time walking up and down Ponsonby while taking care of errands. Memories! If only I had known what wonderful experiences were in store... I would have been even more excited. :p I got a bit melancholy to be leaving, I'm not going to lie.
I've taken care of my taxes and made some good headway on other need-to-dos. I've got 5 days in Auckland to finish everything up, but that should leave plenty of time for some fun too! :)
-Completing my tax return. Guys, do it! The IRD was adamant that I "didn't have a requirement to do it" which is fair enough, but I should also be getting back about $800, so boooo IRD. Sneaky.
-Send my bag. There's a convenient website called, in fact, sendmybag.com but I am a bit unsure of the reviews. I might go with a New Zealand company called Pack and Send which is a little more expensive but might be worth it. I think they'll also do the work of actually packaging my suitcase, which will take some stress off.
-Transfer money! I know I said at the beginning to use Western Union but now it's worth doing a bit more research. You could have a better exchange rate with an app that buys and sells currency directly. I'm considering World First, though Currency Fair is meant to be good. Western Union is competitive, though.
-Sell my car! More on this in another post.
-Get myself on the plane! Oof. Oof!
I'll have two last posts soon selling Hestia and about what this year has meant to me. But for now, it's time to shut down my computer and get the rest of this show on the road! :)
